It sounds like the author is peeved that a game he paid for is now coming to PlayStation Plus! Plus doesn't deter me from buying a game I want. As it happened I bought Transistor at launch and I was fully aware it might be free on Plus in the future- and now it is. But I got to play the game when it came out and I don't begrudge the money I spent on it. In some ways it's similar to the argument about why should you buy a console at launch when if you wait a year or two it will b...
@thomasella. If you buy games from the PSN store and are a PS Plus subscriber at some point something you've bought will be free, but that's not a reason to be sad because if you paid money you must have really wanted it at the time. occasionally there will be overlap but that doesn't lesson the value.
When Sony released the PS Vita Slim they should have added the L2, R2 & 3 buttons. Remote Play works great but for games that use all DS4 inputs it can become a barrier when you are trying to remember how to do things.
The article title is based on something not in the article - no where does Gaming Bolt provide a quote that distinguishes between the XBO and PS4 performance. This is 100% click bait to take advantage of the format wars. Rashid, I understand that you need hits but not like this.
"Today marks the one year anniversary of acquiring the @GearsofWar franchise - we are humbled to be delivering on such a beloved experience"
It's good marketing to draw attention to the franchise and start the hype machine for the likely reveal later this year. However to say they are 'HUMBLED to be DELIVERING' is an oxymoron, two contradictory terms. There's nothing wrong with them stating "we will deliver" because it shows confidence in w...
I love Halo.
But I don't think Microsoft should pimp out every great element into their Windows products. Cortana voice assistant, now Spartan browser. Look out for Covenant email that makes you a promise/covenant to keep your info safe and Arbiter virus checker.
Can somebody help me out with reading the stats? I was trying to see if EA generated more revenue on XBO or PS4 but it looks like EA have banded them together. Am I reading the chart wrong or is EA playing favourites?
So the figures are shipped to retail and not sold.
So the figures are not just XBO but include 360.
Sometimes I wish Phil Spencer could be more open and quit the smoke and mirrors.
'Zack Stein IGN's news lead'
That says it all.
It's good that Microsoft will bringing PS4-like features to XBO including Remote Play which will be perfect for playing a full Xbox game on a tablet whilst away from your TV. Also that Microsoft is looking at a PlayStation Now service to enable backwards compatibility. And that now Oculus Rift has generated a lot of enthusiasm they have announced HoloLens.
However one of the reasons Apple beat Microsoft to the smartphone was because Microsoft, a company with so much tec...
Eurogamer say that the current runs on PS4 at 1080p 30fps and on XBO at 900p unlocked 30fps.
Considering the game has now gone gold it is very optimistic for the developers to believe they can double the frame rate to 60fps unless the game has not been optimised for release. It would have been better they waited to get the game looking at its best before releasing it.
I'm confused. Eurogamer and a ton of other websites have written articles slating The Order: 1886 without having played the full game. Are they trying to help gamers not buy a 'broken' game or are they trying to damage sales of a PlayStation 4 exclusive?
The Verge: 'A "screen in your field of view" is the right way to think about HoloLens, too. It's immersive, but not nearly as immersive as proper virtual reality is. You still see the real world in between the virtual objects; you can see where the magic holograph world ends and your peripheral vision begins.'
I think Hololens could be brilliant for video chat as you could see your callee as if they are in front of you which could make such meetings more...
The job spec mentions the community that is 'the most active and passionate in the world.' So yeah, I have to go with Minecraft 2 or a spin-off.
What's interesting is that Microsoft genuinely have a vision of this as more than just a game sequel but a full platform so I'd like to know what they've got in mind. I speculate that maybe it's for learning skills in a 3D world. Also good to read that it is for multiple platforms but I hope this means more th...
Even £12.99 is too much for a game with multiple flaws. I know AC:Unity's reputation wasn't good with the hardcore who would be aware of the 900p debate, the bugs, and micro transaction issues; but i've been repeatedly surprised that mainstream gamers have been avoiding this.
Whilst a longer break before the next game would benefit the franchise Assassin's Creed: Victory will probably be released this November. I hope there is enough time for Ubisoft to...
Whilst I'm not exclusively into Nintendo I really liked that video. The guy, Shaun, is passionate about Nintendo, knowledgeable and is down to Earth.
@fathoms / Ben Dukta. You write a glowing review on a game you haven't completed, then two months later you retract your review, then you come to N4G to post your retraction and get more hits for PSX Extreme, then when people comment in a way that is not complimentary you insult them!
I didn't make a personal attack on you, nor will I resort to your name calling. I said that if you review games you should at least play the whole game. Instead of trying to justify why ...
I believe in forgiving people but in this instance it implies incompetence or dishonesty. The question is why did reviewer Ben Dutka give it a 9/10, and why has he now two months later retracted that score?
He begins by explaining his belief that "you're unlikely to find any critic who has completed every game he or she has reviewed" - the explicit meaning being that Dutka didn't review the whole game - an unforgivable sin for a person whose job it is to revi...
You can't fool me twice. I bought Watch Dogs and I didn't have any real complaints about the graphics. However the gameplay was disappointing. It's just that I was sold and was expecting a super hi tech espionage adventure, but the reality was it was just a GTA-like clone with a near-future spin. I didn't get around to finishing it. I'm sure there will be improvements but I can't imagine myself buying the sequel.
Microsoft are after marketshare not profit.
